You've probably seen the little +1 things next to threads and entries around the site. So, what the heck is this rep thingy all about?
Why?
We added rep score for a number of reasons, the biggest being that it makes it easier to find good content on the site.
You can sort the forums and entries section by rep score, which lets you see the highest rated posts first. Easy!
How?
If you see an entry (or thread) that you like, click the thumbs up icon next to the submit button in the comment box (or post reply box for forums).
The amount of rep score that is given to the entry is based on your current rep score, so if you have a higher rep score, it'll increase rep score more than having a lower rep score.
My Rep Score
Any time someone gives a blog entry of yours a thumbs up (or thumbs down!) your rep score is affected as well.
You can check your rep score at any time by viewing either your dashboard or your user profile!
Featured Members
The blogs shown in the Featured Blogs section on the front page are placed there based on rep score. Currently, the cutoff for the featured section is 100.
If your rep score is 100 or greater, your blog is shown in the featured section at the top of the front page.
Voting for Contests
Rep score also takes part in contests. Contest winners are chosen based on rep score (of their entry, not the member).
If you're looking to increase your rep score, get people to thumbs-up your post!
